Truest things about me...

This post is just to tell you the truest things about myself.

My name is Kaitlyn Brianne Bowers but I prefer to go by KB.
I often lie and say that my full name is Kaitlyn Brianne Bowers Leinneweber Rodriquez III, in good fun that is.
If I could choose when my birthday is it would be int he summer because I like the summer the best.
I have a dog named Lunchbox that is by far the love of my life. So, fellas, you've got some tough competition!
I hate suckers but love popsicles.
I have recently taken up rock climbing and it makes me so mad to know how bad I am at it. But I'm working on it!
My favorite color is pink, but I own nothing pink. I just like the idea of being a princess.
I am a princess.
I never wear matching socks.
My favorite taco place is Shamrock in Wimberley, TX.
If I could choose one sport to be good at, it would be soccer because it is played in every country.
My dream job would be to work for GoPro.
There are some people in this world that I want to punch SO HARD.
I like to go on adventures. You name it, we do it.
I hate Taylor Swift, but I won a competition by horribly singing a T-Swift song.
I hardly ever shave my legs. No point.
I make average grades, but have fun doing it. (sorry parents!)
Im a cheerleader at heart.
If I could have a random pet, it would be a petite lap giraffe.
My hidden talent is that I can make a "mustache face." Let your mind ponder on that for a sec.

But the truest thing about me is that I am a child of God.
Nothing compares to coming home and being in the arms of our Father.
When you come home you are safe, forgiven, loved, cherished, worry free, and welcome.
Being a child of God means that I am loved unconditionally despite my faults.
Psalms 103:13 says, "The Lord is like a Father to his children, tender, and full of compassion..."

It's true that I like popsicles and can make a mustache-like-shape on my face, but the truest thing about me is that I am a child of God.

Lunchbox

So about 10 months ago, my friends and I took in the cutest fluffiest snuggly puppy dog that we found on the streets. Originally we were only going to keep her for a day. But she just fit in with our friend group. So we named her Lunchbox.

Lunchy is the bestest lil puppy ever! The only person that doesnt like her is my step dad, but he doesnt like animals in general. Lloyd and I pretend like it is our dog together, but in reality she's mine.

LB is living with my parents for the summer but she gets so pumped to see me when I come home. Lunchy seriously puts the biggest smile on my face. She smiles, so I smile. My parents want to give her away but if that happens I will literally NEVER forgive them. You've been warned parentals...

I love to cuddle with her, because she loves it to. Lunchbox is definitely a snorer. It's quite loud for such a lil fella. But it never annoys me because she is so cute in an ugly way.

I miss good ole LB so much! I cant wait to see my puppy when I get home! Eeeeek!

Shine A Light

I went to a coffee shop tonight at 10:45PM  and ordered a carmel machiatto with 2 extra shots of espresso. That totals to 4 espresso shots. I ordered it under the name Beaux, just for giggles, and it was delicious.
After the espresso had fully kicked in, a couple of friends and I went and sat on the bluff over looking the lake. One dude had a guitar. One girl had a fuzzy blanket. I had a head lamp. And God brought the stars. What else could you need? It was like God was shining hundreds of flashlights towards us because they were so bright.
God shines those lights and paints these pictures of beauty to amaze us. And that's what we should do to. We should shine this light of God and reflect it into the people around us. We may not always be recognized for it, but if God took away the stars wouldn't you notice?

Love Does

So I started reading Love Does by Bob Goff. It is so good! Im typically not a reader, but this book is a plethora of, what resemble to me, Young Life talks.

If you aren't familiar with any Young Life talks, it is simply this: a funny/interesting/crazy/entertaining story that draws kids in. Once you tell your funny story that you have, you some how relate it back to a story in the bible. And that's exactly what happens in this book.

Anyways, today I read the chapter "Sweet Maria," which is all about Bob Goff's wife and how he pursued her. He did crazy things like putting sandwiches under her windshield wipers everyday. Why? I don't know but it worked. And he made a giant Valentines Day card that wouldn't even fit in an elevator. Talk about embarrasing. But it worked.

It is the same way Jesus pursues us. He is spontaneous and creative and persistent. He loves us so much and He never stops loving us. The very beginning of 1 Corinthians 13: 4 says, "Love is patient..."
That's all we need to know. That God is so patient with us, through everything we do to turn against Him. He is going to patient with us because He loves us.

That's just what love does.
